70The Pamela Frock baby dress pattern was originally published in April 1925 in The Needlecraft Magazine. A size is not included in the magazine, however, it appears to be a baby pattern for 3-6 months. Very cute!

Materials required:
12 - 20-gram balls of perle-cotton
No. 3 steel knitting needles
No. 13 small bone crochet-hook
Three snap-fasteners.
Begin at the bottom of skirt by casting on 137 stitches.
1. Knit 1, * knit 2, (over, knit 1) 5 times, over, knit 2, repeat from *, ending with knit 1.
2. Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 11, purl 2, repeat from *, ending with knit 1.
3. Knit 1, * knit 2 together, knit 11, knit 2 together, repeat from *, ending with knit 1.
4. Knit 1, * purl 2 together, purl 9, purl 2 together, repeat from *, ending with knit 1.
5. Knit 1, * knit 2 together, knit 7, knit 2 together, repeat, ending with knit 1.
6. Knit 1, purl to last stitch, knit 1.
Repeat from 1st to 6th row, inclusive, 13 times more, completing the feather pattern of the skirt. Then continue as follows:
1. Knit plain.
2. Knit 2, purl to last 2 stitches, knit 2.
Repeat these 2 rows for four inches, ending with 1st row. Then work the waist-band, with holes for cord, as follows:
1, 2, 3. Knit plain.
4. Knit 2, * over twice, knit 2 together, knit 4, repeat from *, ending with knit 1.
5. Knit plain, knitting the 2 overs or double stitch as 1 stitch.
6. Knit plain. Bind off.
Knit the other half of skirt to correspond.
For the bodice: Cast on 137 stitches for the front.
1. Knit plain.
2. Knit 2, purl to last 2 stitches, knit 2.
Repeat these 2 rows, decreasing at each end of the needle in every 11th row, until 129 stitches remain. At beginning of next 2 rows, cast on 40 stitches for sleeves. Knit for two inches, ending with 2d row.
Knit the 1st 104 stitches, purling back.
Knit for 2 inches on the 1st 104 stitches, knitting forward and purling back, as usual: then decrease every row at the neck end until 80 stitches remain. This brings the work to top of shoulder. Now increase at the same edge in every row until there are 87 stitches on the needle. Cast on 22 stitches at end of needle for the back of neck and continue knitting on the 109 stitches until the sleeve measures ten inches from the cast-on stitches, ending with the 2d or purled row. Knit the 1st 9 stitches of each row at the neck edge plain, for the opening or placket.
Now bind off the 40 stitches for sleeve, in next row, and continue knitting on the remaining 69 stitches, increasing at the sleeve edge in each 11th row, until there are 72 stitches on the needle. Leave these on a stitch-holder or spare needle.
Commencing the other side, bind off the 1st or odd stitch, then knit to correspond with the first side until the 40 sleeve-stitches are bound off. Complete the row, then increase every 11th row at the sleeve edge until you have 72 stitches. Knit 1 more row, leaving the last 9 stitches un knitted.
Taking the portion left on the spare needle, place these 9 unknitted stitches at the back of the corresponding stitches on the spare needle; then, taking a stitch from each needle, knit the 9 stitches off together, thus lapping one side of the opening over the other. Finish the row, then continue knitting on all the stitches, increasing at each end of the needle in the 10th row from last increase.
To make up the garment: sew the skirt evenly to the waist or bodice, then carefully press with a damp cloth and hot iron. Sew up the side and sleeve seams, and sew the snap-fasteners in place on the back opening.
Around the lower edge of skirt, work a row of doubles, with 1 chain between each. Around neck and sleeves, work * 3 trebles in same place, chain 2, miss space of 2 stitches, a double in next, chain 2, miss; repeat.
For the cord: Using the thread double, crochet a chain 65 inches long; thread through the holes, and finish ends with tassels made by winding the thread 90 times around a card two and three-fourths inches wide, tying tightly one fourth inch from one end, and slipping the other end evenly.
